Michael Alan Rothrock, 68, of Waelder, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, July 20, 2020. Michael was born November 5, 1951 in Kemmer, WY to Harry Luther Rothrock and Sylvia Joyce Buschmille Rothrock. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2020 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the rosary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2020 in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jason Martini officiating.  Internment will follow in Thompsonville Cemetery. more
Victor Joseph Jungbauer, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at the age of 90. He was born on September 8, 1929 in Shiner, Texas to Joseph and Rose Darilek Jungbauer. He married Lucille Kuntschik on May 28, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 5 until 7 PM in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, with a rosary to follow at 7 PM. A private family graveside will be held at a later date. more
Clarence Charles Vyvjala, 90, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020. He was born in Smithville, TX on November 4, 1929 to Henry and Albina (Michalik) Vyvjala. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He married Marian Brom in Moulton, TX on November 5, 1955.  They had two children, Cindy, and Michael.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Rosary will begin at 6:30pm. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in St. James Catholic Cemetery at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Prior to the service a horse drawn hearse processional will be at 9:30 am from the parking lot of Seydler Hill. more
Gale Oliver, III, devoted husband and father, died peacefully in his home in Houston surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2020. He was born in Refugio, Texas on February 13, 1939 to Gale Oliver, Jr. and Frances Hamilton Oliver. Besides his loving parents, Gale was greatly influenced by his maternal grandmother, Clare Wofford Hamilton of Cuero. Due to current restrictions and safety concerns regarding Covid-19, a private family burial is planned. A church service and celebration of Gale’s life will be held at a later date in the very near future. more
Albina "Bea" Bohuslav, 85, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born December 29, 1934 in Shiner to Matt and Clara (Simersky) Spann. Private funeral services will be held with Memorial Funeral Mass at a later date. Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandchildren. more
Ellouise Caraway Henry, age 94 of Seguin, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Ellouise was born on May 18, 1926, near Nixon, Texas, to Floy (Humble) and E. O. Caraway. Graveside Services will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nixon Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 427, Nixon, Texas, 78140 or the charity of one’s choice. Chaplain Jeremy Roy will officiate. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required to attend. more

Arnold Lee Baker, 66, of Gonzales, rode through God’s heavenly gates on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. He was born on September 8, 1953, to Emmet J. and Irene Baker, Sr., being one of five children. His entire family joined the First Lutheran Church of Gonzales in July 1968. He grew up in the Hamon community helping his family with their farming livelihood, which included raising chickens, picking cotton, pulling corn, and raising cattle. He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1972, being named “Friendliest” of his class. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seydler Hill Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Ildiko Rigney officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. more

Betty Jo (Beeson) Gandre passed on to her heavenly home on July 3, 2020 in Gonzales, Texas at the age of 90.  She was born in Five Mile, Gonzales County, Texas on March 30, 1930 to Melvin E. Beeson and LaVell Rentz Beeson.  She married Robert Earl Gandre in Monthalia, Texas on August 14, 1947. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Texas.  Memorials may be made to The Monthalia United Methodist Church. more
Michael Andrew Meneley, the 5th child of John Nixon and Henrietta Meneley, was born on 23 October 1946 at 10:45 a.m. in the Holmes Hospital in Gonzales, Texas, and died of pancreatic cancer on June 19, 2020 in Missouri City, Texas. Services will be held at a later date with burial in the St. James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzales. more
Bruce Glynn Brown passed away with loved ones by his side at his home in Bastrop on June 23, 2020, after a 3-year battle with cancer. He was born in Luling, Texas, on December 8, 1952, to Fred Tyre Brown, Sr. and Patsy Brown Eckols. Bruce enjoyed growing up in the Belmont area with his extended family. Alice Marie Mills Glass, 83, of Gonzales passed away Sunday June 28, 2020. She was born July 27, 1936 in Gonzales to Herff T. and Floy Finch Mills. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gonzales. Alice Marie was married to William (Bill) Bryan Glass on June 6, 1954, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2012. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Clarence John Fink, 92, passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 17, 2020. Hollis Newton Bean was the only surviving son of Jasper Newton Bean and Ida Almeda Vickers Fluitt Bean. He answered the final call on June 27 at the age of 92. He was born at home in the community of Pilgrim, Texas, the youngest of 6 children. Hollis can be described as cowboy extraordinaire, a gifted “fixer” of anything, and a true Scotsman of the clan McBain. Most of all he was a loving husband for 67 years and faithful father to Ray and Bonnie. Private family graveside services will be held at Thompsonville. more

Joyce Nell Mauer Boysen, 82, of Gonzales, left this world Thursday, June 25, 2020 to be with her Lord and her love, Doug. Joyce was born Aug. 3, 1937 in Cuero to Albert B. and Ella Mae Brown Mauer. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Gonzales. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 in the Gonzales First Lutheran Church.
