2020 Voter Guide

In January, the Gonzales Inquirer editorial staff asked to hear from the people who are both currently and are seeking to represent you at the county, state and national levels. All of these candidates will be on the ballot on the March 3 primary elections. We asked these candidates:

  • Who are you?
  • What are your values?
  • Why do you want to hold, or continue to hold, the office you are seeking?
  • What do you want to accomplish in office?
  • How do you intend to accomplish those goals?

Below are the answers we received from candidates in contested local races, which include the offices of Gonzales County Sheriff, Constable Pct. 1 and County Commissioner Pct. 3. Some of the essays were written by the Inquirer editorial staff after interviewing the candidate, while others were written by the campaign. The essays were edited for grammar and formatting, but the messaging was largely left intact. We will release other candidate profiles in the following weeks.

Gonzales County Sheriff:

Gonzales County Commissioner Pct. 3

Gonzales County Constable Pct. 1
