Airport expansion on schedule

GONZALES — Even after all the rain these last few months, expansion work is on schedule at Roger M. Dryer Memorial Airport.

According to Ralph Camarillo, the airport expansion to add 10 new T-hangers is expected to wrap up in mid-August.

So far, crews have built a pad, laid rebar, poured the slab and gotten the frame work up. Last week they worked on building a weir ditch to drain water off of the hanger pads.

Camarillo said this week the roofing should go on and hanger doors should be installed.
