Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many mansions’ if it were not so, o would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go an prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3

On Dec. 6, 2016, it pleased our Father to call Annie Ruth Grant to a peaceful rest. She was born on Nov. 18, 1943 in Gonzales, Texas to the late Ruth Ella Brooks and Oscar Grant Sr.

Sis, affectionally called by family and friends, graduated from Edwards High and received her associates degree in nursing; where she served for 53 years in that career.

Sis had the heart of God, giving so unselfishly throughout her life. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family or friends. One could say that she gave until her last breath. Sis accepted Christ as her Lord and Sanior years ago, often asking questions about God to understand His ways.

She was married to Herman Ray Hunt and was preceded in death by him, her parents; Ruth Ella and Tilman Brooks. Her father Oscar Grant Sr., sister, Ora Lee James and nephew Ornal Ray Grant. She leaves to cherish her memory; brother Oscar Grant Jr., nephews and nieces whom she called her babies David James (Karen), Linda Young (Ronnie), Wanda Jackson (Dave), Oscar Grant III, Russell Grant (Stephanie), Yvette Grant, Mark Grant (Vanessa), great nephews, nieces, great great nephews, nieces, aunt Gertie C. Connor and a host of cousins and friends.

Services were held on Dec. 17 at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Harris Funeral Home.
