Apaches announce all-district selection
Shortstop Frank Benes was one of five Gonzales Apaches with all-district honors this season. The Apaches placed fourth in District 27-4A, making the playoffs for the first time since 2009.

GONZALES — The Gonzales Apaches finished their district season in fourth with a 2-4 record, making it to the playoffs for the first time since 2009. On their path to postseason play, many Apache baseball players were honored with all-district awards.
Named to the District 27-4A second team were shortstop Frank Benes, third baseman Larry Gomez, outfielder Garrett Rickman and designated hitter Cameron Mileham. Diego Diaz DeLeon was honorably mentioned.
