Apaches overwhelm Cameron Yoe

CAMERON YOE — The Gonzales Apaches (10-1-0) boys’ soccer team traveled to Cameron Yoe (0-11-0) Friday after a scheduled home game had to be moved due to inclement field conditions. The Apaches won the game 13-0, scoring seven goals in the first half and six in the second. Both Santiago Escoto and Rogelio Sanchez had two hat tricks each, scoring six goals each in the route. Sanchez added two assists to his stat sheet. Meanwhile, Fabian Cardoza also came away with a goal.

Getting assists were Anthony Veliz and Jose Flores with two each and Suriel Rangel, Sebastian Rodriguez and Mario Pizano with one each.

Tonight the Apaches end their district season as they travel to Austin to take on Eastside Memorial (9-1-1) with kickoff set at 5:15 p.m. With a win or a tie, the Apaches clinch the District 26-4A title. Austin Eastside Memorial needs an outright win to take top district honors.
