Apaches season end with no-hitter

FREDERICKSBURG — After giving up five runs in the first inning, the Gonzales Apaches could not match up with the Billies offensive power, losing 11-1 in five innings. The 10-run loss ends the Apaches’ season in the bi-district round of playoffs.

Tanner Blundell took the loss, striking out two batters while giving up 11 hits, three walks and 10 earned runs.

At the plate, Diego De Leon was the lone runner, going 0-for-1 in the process. The Apaches combined for eight strikeouts, three walks and no hits.

Gonzales ends their season as bi-district finalists, coming out of District 27-4A in fourth place after a two-game sweep of Austin Eastside Memorial.
