Apaches set for state golf meet

After a long break from taking third in the Region IV-4A tournament, the Gonzales Apaches boys’ golf team are ready for the Apple Rock Golf Course at Horseshow Bay as they travel to Marble Falls for the UIL Conference 4A state golf meet from May 22-23.

The District 27-4A-champion Apaches’ team consists of Wade Miller, Kolby Kifer, Tristan Riley, Mason Richter and Jake Barnick. They will be one of 12 teams competing in the meet.

UIL released tee times and parings, as the Apaches tee off at 10 a.m. along with Midlothian Heritage (Region I-4A), Argyle (Region II-4A) and Huffman-Hargrave (Region III-4A).

Other teams and players representing Region IV-4A are Fredericksburg, Devine and medalists James Alfaro of Raymondville, Andy Cortez of La Feria and Brayden Pawlak of Needville.
