Arno Eugene Nance

Arno Eugene Nance, Sr., 71, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020. Arno was born Dec. 18, 1948 in Gonzales to Arno Venson Nance and Alta Lucille LePori Nance. He married Carol Jeanine McKinney on Sept. 3, 1967 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Gonzales. Arno was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church and had given his heart to Jesus at an early age.

Arno was a truck driver for many years and drove school buses later in life until finally retiring.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to watch football and baseball. He was an avid Texas Rangers fan.

Arno is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Nance of Gonzales and his adoring family, daughters; Joanna Scott of Gonzales, Nancy Seely of Oklahoma City, OK, Cynthia Aber and husband Keith of Gonzales, sons; Arno Nance, Jr., and wife Kym of Sanford, ME, Troy Nance and wife Brandi of Magnolia, Jim Nance of Gonzales, sisters; Dorothy May (Aubry) of Seguin, Linda Sue Nance of Gonzales, brothers, Billy Nance (Fern) of Seguin, Donnie Nance of Houston, Johnny Nance (Debbie) of Gonzales, 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Opal Marie Nance.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers: Arno Nance, Jr., Troy Nance, Jim Nance, Keith Aber, John Gibson, and Keith Gerold. Memorials may be made to Memorial Heights Baptist Church.

Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, funeral service, and graveside burial rite. Those remotely symptomatic of COVID-19 are politely asked not to attend. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
