Bernard “Bernie” Hajovsky, Jr.

Bernard “Bernie” Hajovsky, Jr., 63, of Cuero passed away on Feb. 16, 2016. He was born on April 17,1952 in Shiner as the second of seven children to Bernard and Loretta Hajovsky of Gonzales.  

He is survived by his wife Nancy Jean Novak Hajovsky; children, Bridgette Lynette Cerny (Matthew), Brandy Jean Williams (Justin), Bernie Joe Hajovsky (Jordan), Blake Bernard Hajovsky (Ashley), and Bryan Bernard Hajovsky, OFM Conv; grandchildren, Brooke Marie Cerny, Kristin Elizabeth Cerny, Sabine Anna Marie Williams, Harris Kristek Hajovsky, Jackson Dominic Hajovsky, Rylie Claire Hajovsky, Molly Catherine Hajovsky, and Colton Luke Hajovsky, all who affectionately called him “Pappy.” He is also survived by his siblings Elaine Brzozowski, David Hajovsky, Jeanette Collins, Judy Ealand, Lori Thomas and Bonnie Barton.

Bernie was an immensely loving and loyal husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend. A devoted family man, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing guitar. Bernie had a good sense about life and had a deep Catholic faith. He was a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus of Holy Family Council, No. 9088.

Everyone is welcome to join in praying for Bernie’s soul. The rosary was prayed on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at Saint Michael’s Church in Cuero. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. at Saint Michael’s Church in Cuero and his burial immediately followed at Saints Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Shiner.
