Betty Annette York Murphy

Mrs. Betty Annette York Murphy was born June 6, 1960 to Margaret Thron and O. J. McGee in Houston, Texas. Her biological father was Mr. Wilbert York. Betty York went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2016.

For many years, Ms. Betty was the caretaker for Mrs. Della Carroll, former teacher here in Gonzales.

She later became the owner of Annette Cleaning service. She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church Hallettsville, Texas

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Joe D. Johnson in Ricesville Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by O. J. McGee, Randolph York, Otis McGee, Jr. Grandmother; Anna B. Thorn, and Ida Lee McGee, Grandfather; Hessie D Thorn Sr., and Robert McGee, Sr., Granddaughter; Olivia York, mother in law; Laura McMillan. Herman McMillan, Elvin Jerman and Joseph Demonchet.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband; Arnold J. Murphy, one daughter; Angela Nicole York, two daughters by marriage; Sheena Harper and Serina Harper. Two son’s; Michael D. York (Sue), and Marcus D. York (Ameera). Four sisters; Bernadette Montgomery, Gale Ann York, Kathlyn Kennard and Joann McGee. One sister-in-law; Theresa Mathis (Randy). One brother; Wilbert York, Jr. (Doris). Seven grandchildren by marriage, eight biological grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Doris, three sister-in-law’s by marriage. Special friends; LaSonya Foster, B.J. Hartwell, Joyce Walker, Keisha Robinson, Earlene Mathis, Kathy Brown, Armani Harper. And many other relatives and friends.

Final services on Saturday November 26, 2016 at Union Lea Baptist Church Gonzales, Texas.
