25th Judicial District Judge

Bill Old (R)

Posted

Judge Bill Old is seeking re-election as Judge of the 25th Judicial District. He has been an attorney for 32 years, with seven of those as a district judge. He practiced in multiple areas of the law over a 25-year career as an attorney, including criminal, civil, family law, child protection, real estate and probate cases. He is married to Sheila Old and they have four adult children.

Judge Old is a Christian and a conservative Republican. He believes judges should follow the law not make it, therefore he will not legislate from the bench, and will uphold the Constitutions of the United States and Texas. He believes judges should always be fair and impartial, therefore he refuses to accept campaign funds from attorneys who might practice before him.

Judge Old comes from a family who has always served both in the military and in their communities: his father was a U.S. Army officer who served in Vietnam, his grandfather a Major General in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, and great grandfather a Texas and Arizona Ranger. As service was instilled in him his entire life, he loves and desires to continue to serve the people of this district.

Judge Old hopes to continue to provide efficient and effective justice for the people of the district. Due to his leadership, a new district court will be opening in 2021 in Guadalupe County which will give him more time to devote to cases on his docket. He hopes to create a regional drug court and a felony Veterans Court in Guadalupe County. He will accomplish these things by continuing to work hard and by having some time freed up by the new court.

Please vote in the March 3 Republican primary for Judge Bill Old.
