Billie Irle, 85, of Gonzales passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Billie was born April 26, 1931 in Gonzales to Boss Coleman Irle and Nary Ella Richter Irle. He married Virginia Ruddock on Dec. 24, 1965 in Gonzales. Billie was a member of the Emmanuel Fellowship Church.

Billie went to work as a young man for the Shelton Pecan Ranch and offered his earnings to his family to help make ends meet. He later went to work in the poultry hatchery business and worked for the Gonzales Hatchery, Holly Farms Hatchery and finally Tyson.

He enjoyed tinkering with machines on his own time, repairing and sometimes improving the operation of any number of things. He had enjoyed coon, squirrel and deer hunting and he liked to wet a line fishing now and again.

Billie was naturally mischievous. As a young man he once placed a prickly pear under the seat cover of his daddy’s car which ultimately ended poorly for Billie but still brought smiles later in life. Billie loved to laugh. He enjoyed life and he lived each moment.

Billie loved God with all his heart and being very well versed in scriptures he took great pleasure in sharing the word of God. He referred to himself as a “Jesus man” and lived his life as such as an example to all who knew him so that they too might come to know and love the Lord. He taught his children to put God first and all else would fall into place, an example each have incorporated into their daily lives.

Billie Irle is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Annette Moeller and Scott; son, Billy Brian Irle; granddaughters, Jordan Irle and Jaylee Moeller, all of Gonzales and honorary daughter, Jennifer Teager of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Annie Robinson; brothers, Willie Irle, Chester and Lester Irle, Herman Irle and Manus Irle.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m. in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Gonzales City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott D. Moeller, Shawn Stamport, Tinker Brown, Connor Lynn Pruett, Cody Mashburn and Tyler Kocian.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Fellowship Church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
