Cardinals compete in regional tennis tournament

Shiner St. Paul competed in the Regional Tennis Tournament in Kerrville. The girls team, consisting of: Catherine Brown, Scarlett Crawford, Maria Janecek, Brooke Pesek, Gracey Novosad and Christine Wagner finished in third place overall. The boys team, consisting of: Jeffery Decou, Patrick Green and Lane Jackson finished eighth overall.
The girls doubles team of Novosad/Wagner finished the tournament as Regional Champions with victories over Temple Holy Trinity 8-0; New Braunfels Christian B 8-7; Spring Providence A 7-6, 6-0; New Braunfels Christian A 6-4, 6-1.
The girls doubles team of Brown/Crawford finished in 4th place. Houston Briarwood 8-0; Lake Jackson 8-4; New Braunfels A 4-6, 2-6; Spring Providence A 5-8.
Both Girls Doubles teams advanced to the state tournament in Waco to be held on April 18-19.
