Cardinals win first district game

SHINER — The Shiner St. Paul Cardinals took down the Brentwood Christian Bears 49-6 to win their first game in TAPPS District 5 Division III.

The Cardinals only allowed one score late in the third quarter.

On offense, Conor Kresta led the team in rushing, carrying the ball 13 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Tre’Zell Jenkins-Perry had nine rushes for 93 yards and a score. Austin Barton ran four times for 49 yards and a score. Joseph Natal had three rushes for nine yards and a touchdown.

Barton also completed 2-for-4 passes for nine yards and touchdown. Natal caught both passes.

Shiner St. Paul will take on Geneva Boerne this Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
