Charlotte Ann Pool Miller, 60, of Harwood, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. Charlotte was born December 24, 1955 in Ft. Sumter, NC to Charles Alvin Pool and Rosemary Huff Pool Smith. She married Barry C. Miller on February 14, 2003 in the Harwood Baptist Church. Charlotte was a devoted member of the Harwood Baptist Church serving as the church Treasurer and was a dedicated member and ardent supporter of Gonzales Healthcare System’s Board of Directors.

Charlotte was born in Ft. Sumter, NC, however she was raised in Sharonville, OH. She attended school in Sharonville and graduated from Princeton High School. She moved to Harwood, Texas at age 21 and worked in various clerical jobs until she joined American Fireworks as its office manager. At American Fireworks Charlotte was popularly known as the Queen Bee, she had her finger on the pulse of the company and her tremendous organizational skills kept the business in order. Charlotte also worked for Harding Pump and Supply until her illness required her to devote more of her energy and time to win the battle one day at a time.

Charlotte was a natural artist; she had an innate ability to arrange magnificent artificial flower arrangements. Many times she was called upon to arrange bridal bouquets and assorted silk flower arrangements for weddings much to the envy of everyone who beheld their beauty. Charlotte enjoyed spending hours upon hours methodically arranging beautifully arranged silk bouquets. Charlotte was meticulous in organization; she held a fervent belief that for everything there is a place and a place for everything. This belief went far beyond things, it originated with her unwavering Christian faith and her love of family both strategically and lovingly positioned in her heart. She gave of herself to her church as acting Treasurer and as a Vacation Bible School teacher. She adored working with children and celebrated many times the witness of children accepting Jesus as their Savior. Even though her fight with cancer was sapping much of her energy, her faith was such that she was planning and looking forward to next year’s Vacation Bible School. There was no quit in Charlotte, a popular axiom of the day is, “She fought like a girl” and surrendering to cancer was never a consideration. Charlotte was a steward of Gonzales Healthcare System’s vision to be the choice for healthcare services by building loyalty because health and wellness are its priorities and its mission to provide high quality comprehension healthcare to all we serve in its district.

Charlotte exhibited tremendous inner strength and inexorable positive energy. She had a smile that could light up a room and warm the coldest of hearts. She was a brilliant conversationalist and frequently exhibited a delightful sense of humor. Charlotte loved music and enjoyed dancing but other than her faith, her family was her greatest and most treasured love of all.

Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Barry C. Miller of Harwood, mother, Rosemary Huff Smith of Harwood, father, Charles Alvin Pool of Ohio, daughter Apryle Rose Miller and her fiancé Ty Jordan Dvorak of Harwood, son, A.J. Irwin of Harwood, stepdaughters, Kathrine Harkey and her husband Kennon of Harwood, Stephanie Hale and her husband Robert of Kingsbury, step-son, William Miller and his wife Lauren of Lockhart, brothers, Paul Pool and his wife Roxanne of Belle Chasse, LA, Bruce Fortney of Williamsburg, VA, David Pool of Cincinnati, OH, grandchildren, Blaine Harkey, Weston Miller, Kamryn Harkey, Kendall Miller, Candice Longmire, Melissa Bell and Austin Hale. She was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Pool.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the First Baptist Church in Gonzales with Rev. Todd Craven officiating. Interment will follow in Harwood Community Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ace Fairchild, Glenn Davis, Gary Wilson, George Stone, Tommy Blackmon, and William (Bubba) Damon. In lieu of flowers and plants the family requests memorials be made to the Gonzales Healthcare Systems Foundation, 1110 N. Sarah DeWitt Dr. Gonzales, Texas 78629. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
