City Wide Yard Sale set for April 14

GONZALES — The second annual City Wide Yard Sale is going to be held on Saturday, April 14, Gonzales Main Street Administrator Barbara Friedrich disclosed.

The yard sale is open to everyone—whether it is private party or business. People interested in participating can either get a booth on Confederate Square or do it at their house or place of business. Participant entry forms are available at Gonzales City Hall or on the Main Street website at www.gonzalesmainstreet.org. A fee of $10 is all it will cost to be included on the map of vendors that Main Street is putting together and will be placed in the April 12 edition of the Gonzales Inquirer.

Friedrich is optimistic about this year’s event.

“Last year was a huge success,” Friedrich said. “We had 70 vendors, and we’re hoping to have even more this year.

“We will put a map together showing where the vendors are on Confederate Square, and it will also show where yard sales are being hosted at private residences or places of business. All someone has to do to be included on the map is get the application filled out and returned no later than April 9. As long as they meet that deadline, they will be included on the map that is going to be run in the paper.”

According to Friedrich, anyone who is going to set up their sale on Confederate Square can start setting up at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 14. For $10, they will get a 12 foot by 12 foot space on the square and be listed on the map. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the Square.

“This is a great event, and it’s a great way for people to come downtown and enjoy a spring day,” Friedrich said. “Plus, it’s a good way to clean out your house or property and make some money at the same time.’’

For more information, Friedrich can be reached at Gonzales City Hall at 672-2815.
