GONZALES — The schedule of events has been released for the two-day Come & Taste It festival in late April at Confederate Square. The downtown festival is set to feature craft beer, wine, art and even a class car show on April 27 and 28. Friday, April 27:
VIP Beer and Wine Tasting Event, 6-9 p.m.
For $50, interested attendees can purchase a VIP ticket which includes beer, wine and food, an exclusive early admission to the beer tent on Saturday, one complimentary beer stein from Shiner, one complimentary beer mug for Saturday and 10 tickets for samples and pours on Saturday. The event will take place from 6-9 p.m.
Saturday, April 28:
Wine Festival, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
The wine festival portion of Come and Taste IT will take place from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. A $20 ticket includes commemorative wine glass, tote bag, corkscrew and tickets for five complimentary wine samplings.
Starving Artist Festival, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
The Starving Artist Festival is free to the public. Vendors will be displaying art from a wide variety of disciplines around the downtown square and in various businesses in the downtown area.
The Retrieval, 1 p.m.
The historic Lynn Theater will hosting a special screen showing of the multiple-award winning film, “the Retrieval”, written and produced by local renowned artist Chris Eska. A short synopsis of the film reads: “On the outskirts of the Civil War, a boy is sent north by a bounty hunter gang to retrieve a wanted man.”
Beer Tent, VIP: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Public: noon to 8 p.m.
Admission to the beer tent is $25. This includes 10 tickets for samples and pours as well as a complimentary beer mug. Wine, sodas, water and other refreshments will be available.
Classic Car Show, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Viewing of the car show is free admission. Proud car owners will be displaying their classic cars along the 600-block of St. Joseph Street.
