Dennis Tealer inducted to Hall of Fame

Dennis Tealer, graduate of Gonzales High School 1974, was one of the inductees of the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame Induction at the DoubleTree Hotel Tamayo Ballroom in San Antonio, Texas on May 18.

Tealer was supported at the HOF by his wife Brenda, his brother Willie Tealer of Fort Worth, Texas, niece, nephews, other close relatives, very close friends, several members of the state basketball team along with Coach Vernon Hill (wife), and Coach Gerald Lowery.

As a three-year starter and three-year all-state player, Tealer averaged 18 points per game in his sophomore season and 24 points per game as a junior. During his senior year, he averaged 29.4 points and 18 rebounds per game and was the unanimous all-state tournament pick. He is still listed in the state tournament record books in two scoring categories.
