Donald Wayne McNabb Jr., 59, was born in Gonzales on Dec. 23, 1959 as the oldest of four siblings. Donnie went to be with the lord on Saturday, March 9. Donnie worked at Liebermann’s throughout his high school years until graduating in 1978 from Gonzales High School. Two years later, Donnie moved to Houston after accepting a position at Shell Oil Company as a process operator.

Donnie was a firm believer in Christ and was very active in the Methodist Church. Later on in life Donnie married Patty Parker in 1990 having his first son in 1991, Christopher, and his youngest son Kyle five years later in 1996.

Donnie was a very generous, loving man who would help anyone in need. He was a true sports fan who loved his Rockets and Cowboys. One of his favorite hobbies was building and flying RC airplanes. Donnie retired from Shell Oil Company in 2011 after 31 years.

Donnie is survived by his mother Jo Ann Keck; stepfather Scott Keck; siblings John Keck and James McNabb; sons Christopher and Kyle McNabb; and grandchildren Zoe and Michael McNabb. He is preceded in death by his father Donald McNabb Sr. and sister Kelley McNabb.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15 with Rev. Patrick Whitehead officiating. The family received friends from 10 - 11 am.  Interment was held in Gonzales Memorial Park.  Pallbearers were Kyle McNabb, James McNabb, James Coldwell, Lonnie Coldwell, John Keck, Chase Van Zant and Jared Munoz.  Memorials may be made to the Gonzales First United Methodist Church.  Friends may leave their condolences by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhome.com.  Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
