Doris Frances Janota

Doris Frances Janota, 89, of Austin, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018. She was born April 26, 1929 in Gonzales County, the daughter of William and Mary Hancock Eggert. 

After attending high school, Doris moved to Victoria at the age of 16 to work for the Southern Bell Telephone Company. She later worked for HEB as a checker and retired in 1994.  She was a member of the Abundant Life Fellowship (an independent Assembly of God Church). She enjoyed keeping a beautiful yard, especially her flower beds. 

She is survived by her daughter Gloria Wilson and husband Larry of Seguin; grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis and husband Travis of San Marcos and Eric Wilson and wife Mindy of Baird; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Wilson Lewis, Jay and Reese Wilson; sister Peggy Collier of Tennessee; brothers, James Eggert of Austin and Amos Eggert of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Joyce Jones, Margaret Cowan, Ruth Howell and Lillian Smith and brother Bill Eggert. 

Visitation will be held Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Frankie Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
