Edwina Lynn Hicks “Wina”

Edwina Lynn Hicks “Wina” was born April 29, 1962 to Teresa Trevino and Edward Tealer. She was then adopted by her aunt Jerlene Washington and Booker T. Allen. She received Christ at an early age and was Baptized. In 2009 she became a member of Antioch Baptist Church Luling TX. She served as a faithful member until her death.

Edwina graduated from Victoria College in 1989 where she received her License Vocational Nursing degree. She worked at several Luling Nursing Homes for several Years where she loved and enjoyed her patients and co- workers.

Edwina Met Aaron Bernard Hicks while in High School whom later became her husband and to that union three Children were born Aaronda Hicks, Alexis Allen and Aryann Hicks. Demetria Thomas, Adrian Wilson (Monica) and Patrick Greathouse (Kassandra)

Edwina loved spending time with family and friends. One of her greatest accomplishments was being a caring nurse; where she spent endless hours caring for patients and their families.

Edwina loved working for the church, organizing musicals, programs and visiting many other churches. When she wasn’t at church, Edwina enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, garage sales and shopping for the whole community for Christmas.

Edwina leaves to cherish her memory; five grandsons, Bryson Greathouse, Aaron B. Hicks II, Joshia Woods, Patrick Greathouse Jr., four granddaughters, Na’Shaya Durst, Kashanna Durst, Gianna Suarez, Robbie Hicks, uncle Ernest Tealer, aunt Jerlene Washington, nieces Andrea Davis and Robyn Hernandez and nephew Charles Smith Jr.

She also leaves to cherish brothers and sisters, a host of relatives and friends.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Luling on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m.
