Elida Macias

Elida Macias, 66, of Victoria, passed away on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in Victoria.

Funeral mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales and was held on Tuesday Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church in Gonzales with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Interment followed at Saint James Catholic Cemetery. A rosary was recited on Monday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel.

Elida was born on April 3, 1949 in Gonzales. She was the daughter of Pablo and Guadalupe (Leal) Macias. She loved to dance and listen to music. She enjoyed coloring, and she was a very special person who loved to laugh.

Elida is survived by four sisters; Guadalupe Pompa and her husband, Nicholas, Jr. of Victoria, Estella Villareal of Victoria, Juanita Ordunia of Midland, and Angela Pena of Smiley. She was preceded in death by her parents; Pablo and Guadalupe Macias, two brothers; Rudy and David Macias, and one sister; Maria Macias.

Pallbearers were David Mendez, Jr., Nicholas Pompa IV, Paul Villareal, Jr., Bobby Pena, Emilio Espinal, and Gabriel Pena.
