Felipe Garcia, 95, of Copperas Cove passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday morning, October 26. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 30 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove with burial following at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and a Rosary following at the Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.

Felipe was born on May 1, 1920 in Gonzales to the late Gregorio and Patricia Rodriquez Garcia. He attended school in Gonzales before joining the United States Army during WW II. After the War, he moved to Central Texas and began his career with the City of Killeen retiring after 32 years of service. Felipe married Ascencion Gomez in Killeen. They were faithful members of Holy Family Catholic Church since they moved to Copperas Cove in 1960. His greatest joy was his family. His second greatest joy was watching sports with watermelon in hand!

Felipe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fernando, Gregorio, Guadalupe, Juan, David, and his beloved sister, Cecelia; son, Adam Flores and a grandson, Tony Hernandez.

Felipe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ascencion Garcia; children, Eva Olivas, Reimundo Flores and wife, Viola, Elma Flores, Emily Flores and husband Danny Fraga, Juan M. Flores, Jr. and wife, Rita, Marta Garcia, Olga Garcia, Felipe S. Garcia, Jr., and wife Shannon; 28 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that were dear to his heart.

Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
