Gary P. Finch

Gary P. Finch, age 72, of Smiley and formerly of Nixon, entered eternal rest on Jan. 10, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Cuero, Texas on Nov. 21, 1945.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Barney Ray Finch and Alta Marie Chessher Finch; his step-mother, Catherine Howard Finch; and a granddaughter, Marian Jean Finch.

Gary is survived by his wife since March 2, 1985, Paulette Wake Finch; his daughter, Chelsea Silay and husband Imen; his son, Jarrett Finch and wife Michelle; his step-son, Marcus Stewart; his grandchildren: Aydin and Mavi Silay; a sister, JoAnn Markowsky and husband C.E. “Babe”; a brother, Don Finch and wife Gladyne; his canine companion, Buddy; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Nixon in conjunction with the Worship Service. Pastor Rhonda Troll will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary’s Golf Buddies and the NHS Class of ’64.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held Friday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
