GONZALES — The grills are hot and the 10th annual Gonzales County Area Go Texan Steak Night Scholarship Fundraiser is ready to serve up a smokin' night of food, fun and dancing, all in the name of local students and education.

In 2017, the Gonzales County Area Go Texas Scholarship Fund issued $71,950 in scholarships, to 16 students. These allocations were made through the generosity of donors attending the annual Steak Night Scholarship Fundraiser, held in January; and, through the Gonzales County Area Go Texan Tractor Pull and Cook-off held in September.

Tickets for the Steak Night Scholarship Fundraiser are $40 per person. Corporate sponsorship is available for $50 per person, with a six-ticket minimum purchase.

The event guest list is growing, with a busload of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo dignitaries coming for the event and more than 400 tickets having already been sold.

There are only 480 tickets in circulation. All tickets are pre-sale only and available through any Gonzales County Area Go Texan committee member, or at the E-Barr Scale Office, next to E-Barr Feed & Supply, located at 212 St. Louis Street; or by calling 830-672-4555. No tickets will be sold at the door.
