GISD reports 2 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

The Gonzales Independent School District shared a post to its Facebook page Thursday, Dec. 10, stating that it became aware of two staff members at its North Avenue Intermediate campus who had tested positive as of Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Here is that statement, as it appeared Dec. 10 at 3:50 p.m.:
"Late yesterday, December 9, 2020, GISD learned of two North Avenue staff members who tested positive for COVID-19. Both individuals were last on campus on Friday, December 4, 2020. The district is getting in touch with those who came into "close contact" with the individuals
We will continue to work with our staff members, parents and students to keep everyone healthy and safe. If your child is ill or being tested for COVID-19, please notify your campus office and campus nurse. We cannot stress enough, the importance of our students consistently wearing facial c"
The district is currently reporting six active cases among students and three among staff.
