Glenn Mikesh, 71, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was born January 11, 1945 in Gonzales County to the late Joseph and Genevieve Bruns Mikesh.

He served in the National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post # 571. He retired from TxDot after 37 years of service in the mechanic department. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He loved and enjoyed  his twin granddaughters, Haleigh and Brianna Mikesh.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Shirley Miller Mikesh of Yoakum; son, Todd Mikesh and wife Kendra of Hallettsville; twin granddaughters, Haleigh and Brianna Mikesh; sisters, Betty Caldwell  and Jane Rossow (Mike), all of Gonzales.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Duane Caldwell; nephew, Justin Caldwell.

Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2016 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home.

Funeral Service 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Hornung officiating. Entombment to follow at Yoakum Restland Mausoleum.

Pallbearers are Michael Farek, Wesley Caldwell, Larry Fortune, Lynn Luedecke, Tommy Schurig and Steven Stehle.

Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Dedear, Robert Stehle, Kenneth Miller, Charles Belcik, Freddie Finch and all the TxDot District 13 shop employees.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church in Yoakum.
