Golden Crescent CASA hosts Annual Wine Pairing

GONZALES — Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers play an important role in helping abused, neglected and displaced children navigate the courts and foster care system.

In Texas, CASA volunteers get to know the child and gain the child's trust, then they gather information from everyone involved in the child's life, including family members, foster parents, teachers, daycare providers, doctors, lawyers, social workers and other relevant persons.

CASA volunteers use the information gathered to report to the judge, advocating for the child’s need.

Golden Crescent CASA, which serves Gonzales county from its St. Matthew Street office, is preparing for the organization's ninth annual Wine Pairing fundraiser, A Night at the Opera.

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday, November 10, at Victoria Country Club. The cost is $125, per ticket.

Sponsorships for the evening at still available: Bravo, $500; Aria, $1,500; Serenade, $3,500; Tempo, $5,000; Comprimario $7,500; and, Maestro, $10,000.
