Gonzales Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture set for board election

GONZALES — Gonzales Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture has gotten eight nominations for civic-minded additions to the 2018 Board of Directors.
On the ballot are, in alphabetical order by last name:

  • Jean Peterek Burns – Local attorney, former board member, former GHS teacher and former realtor:
  • Abbey Casares - Manager of A.C. Collision and A&S Recycling, and former board member;
  • Crystal Gray – Local business owner and licensed massage therapist;
  • James Lawrence – Office Manager and Pre-need Counselor at Buffington Funeral Home and former business manager for a school and a church as well as employee of the month for a major airline;
  • Rebekah Morgan – Realtor with Breitschopf-Cooper and member of Happy House Board of Directors, as well as several church committees.
  • Pat Anders-Ryan - former Executive Director of Gonzales Youth Center and Dance Instructor for Hermann Sons School of Dance;
  • Edward Wuensch – Oversees Harvest and packing operations at Kitchen Pride Mushrooms;
  • Jackie Williamson – Local Attorney, former city attorney, former owner of Shoe Bar and WW Western Wear, past president of Gonzales Community Health Center Board of Directors, Chairman of local Cancer Society, President of Lady Elks, as well as a member of several other boards.

The Board of Directors meets once a month and presides over chamber operations and activities.
According to chamber officials, ballots should be turned in by the Friday, December 29. The election will be held after the first of the year.
