Gonzales city secretary to resign

Gonzales city secretary Kristina Vega announced her resignation effective at the end of February. Vega told “The Inquirer” she is leaving to pursue another opportunity and her departure from the city is amicable.

“I am not leaving on bad terms. Period,” Vega said. “This is a move that I need to make for myself and my family.”

Vega has been city secretary for over seven years, serving under two mayoral administrations. The city secretary is the city’s official records keeper, among many other things. The responsibilities of the position include construction of meeting agendas, acting as the city’s chief public information contact and the coordinator and administrator of city elections and other related matters.  According to the city’s job posting the position is paid $55,000-$65,000 annually.
