Gonzales Healthcare Systems Foundation Gala set for Saturday

GONZALES – “Laughter is the Best Medicine” and the theme of the Gonzales Healthcare Systems Foundation Gala on Saturday night at the JB Wells Expo Center.

Foundation Executive Director Kelly Lindner and her staff have been planning the gala for months – nearly a year – and the results should be nothing less than spectacular.

According to Lindner, lots of donations have been made to the event and there are many treasures going on the auction block, including antique jewelry, new jewelry, hand bags, gift baskets, gift certificates and much more.

“Our focus this year is to raise as much money as possible for our patent room remodels,” Lindner said. “We are so overwhelmed and honored that the community has responded so generously.”

The whole night – from start to finish – is sure to be filled with just the right dose of that medicine – laughter.

Doors open at 5:15 p.m. Guests are invited to mingle and enjoy cocktails and a variety of hors d'oeuvres, as well as participate in some fun-and-game activities, like free photo booths with a green screen and props; and pay-to-play prize-winning games, including Plinko and a Prize Wheel.

Lindner said many of the prizes for the games are valued higher than the $10 cost to play and the games will be open through cocktail hour and during the silent auction later in the evening.

Dinner will be enjoyed after the cocktail hour.

“We will be serving our guests a meal prepared by Branding Iron Caterers out of Luling, that includes salmon, flat iron steak, and pecan crusted chicken, lots of indulgent side dishes and a surprise dessert,” Lindner said.

During dinner, The Emotions will be playing jazz favorites; after dinner and the auction the dance floor will open up and the band will be playing their much-loved mix of music.
