GPD on lookout for man passing stolen checks

GONZALES — Police are searching for an El Campo man who officials say is passing stolen checks in Gonzales and other cities.

Capt. Allen Taylor reported that on June 22, a man identified as Charles Perry Nix, 49, of El Campo passed a stolen check at McCoy’s Building Supply and had used another person’s identification information on the check.

According to Taylor, on May 27, Nix also passed checks on the same account, also using same identification on checks at the McCoy’s in Bastrop as well as the Walmart in La Grange.

The Gonzales Police Department and four other agencies have outstanding warrants, Nix and are asking for the public’s assistance to locate Nix.
