Happy Fall Y’all set for Saturday

It’s the spookiest time of the year once again and Gonzales’ Happy Fall Y’all celebration is just around the corner. The Gonzales Main Street hosted event is slated for 5-10 p.m. Oct. 26 at Confederate Square, but the fun kicks off a little before that with a free showing of “Goosebumps 2” at 2 p.m. at the Lynn Theater.

Planned festivities include a costume contest for the whole family, including pets; a jack-o-lantern contest; a candy walk; trunk or treat with local businesses and groups; games; spooky science; a hayride and a photo booth. The costume contest will be broken down in several categories including age, group and pets.

Food vendors will be onsite, and patrons are encouraged to bring their own beverages, though no glass containers will be permitted on event grounds. Alcohol consumption, however, is allowed on festival grounds.

DJ Big Dawg and DJ Little Dawg will provide tunes and officiating the event. Those attending should bring their own chairs and blankets if interested.

As simply put by Gonzales Main Street administrator Barbara Friedrich, “it is going to be fun.”
