‘Happy Fall Y'all’ this Saturday

GONZALES – The weather has gotten a little cooler and leaves up north are starting to change colors, so it must be fall – even in Texas.

Gonzales Main Street is ramping up for a tremendous children's event this coming Saturday, as Happy Fall Y'all hits Confederate Square.

Main Street committee member and event organizer Lisa Brown said she is looking forward to another fantastic event.

"Last year was big and we have worked hard putting this event together and to make it even bigger," Brown said. "I am excited about the variety of activities."

There will be a host of inflatable games, from Jump-N-Fun, such as soccer, basketball and baseball. There will also be plenty of game booths with prizes, face painting, pumpkin painting, a Halloween costume contest, photo booth, hay ride, cake walk and much more.

Main Street Manager Barbara Friedrich said the event is heavily dependent on partnerships for success.

"We have many sponsor participants in this year's event," Friedrich said. "Happy Fall Y'all should be a great success."

Gonzales Police Department and Gonzales Fire Department will be at the event as well. The departments will open up a police cruiser and a fire truck for children to take a peek at, as well as take an opportunity to pass out important information about safety.

The Gonzales Noon Lions will host a “Trunk-or-Treat” event this year, offering parents a safer alternative to traditional trick-or-treat. The lions will back line up their decorated cars and with the help of the Gonzales High School Leos, they will pass out candy and other treats.

To close out the evening the Lynn Theater has partnered with Gonzales Main Street to once again show a movie on the square. This year The Lynn has selected Hocus Pocus. Movie time is 7:30 p.m. The Lynn Theater will have concessions available for purchase.

Gonzales Main Street Happy Fall Y'all is an evening-long event, starting at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. Please bring lawn chairs for the movie. For more information call Gonzales Main Street at 830-672-2815.
