Harold Wayne Reeves, 68, of Gonzales passed away at home on Thursday, May 25. He was born on January 22, 1949 in Midland, Texas to Leon Arbin and Mildred Goins Reeves. He grew up in El Paso and San Marcos, Texas. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Harold proudly served in the U.S. Navy and had great respect for the military and law enforcement. He had the honor to have served as a Reserve Deputy in Hays County and Reserve Police Officer in Gonzales.

He worked for LCRA and Anderson, Clayton & Co. as an engineer. He moved to Gonzales in 1987 and owned a small computer business. Later in life he had the great pleasure of working with his son, Darold, in his excavation business and working for Texas Wagon Works.

Harold enjoyed many interests including a keen interest in history, family genealogy, hunting, fishing and dutch oven cooking. He particularly loved spending time with his family and friends. He commented many times that he had a rich life and felt blessed.

Harold Wayne Reeves was a unique and special person; always willing to lend a hand in any way he could to help others. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Harold is survived by his wife Arlene, sons Darold Reeves of Kyle, Dwayne Reeves and wife Jenny of Frisco, brother Marshall Reeves of New Braunfels, sisters-in-law Laura Reeves of San Marcos, Barbara Hibits and Carol Burk of Lake Sam Rayburn, grandchildren Brice and Brinkley Reeves and Sydney and Keller Reeves. He also leaves several nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, June 3 at 10 a.m. of the Gonzales Masonic Cemetery with Pastor Gary Clements officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Martindale Baptist Church or charity of one’s choice.

Services were under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
