Henry Leonard Lewis Jr. was born on March 12, 1953 in Victoria, Texas, but raised in Gonzales, Texas to Lola James and Henry Lewis Sr.

He graduated from high school in Gonzales, Texas.

He was in the band with O.S. Grant and played the saxophone.

Henry was a hardworking man. He worked at the boot factory, Golden Corral, Mushroom Plant, Purina Feed, Gonzales Community Health Center and Wal-Mart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Mary James, Annie Mae James and Evelyn Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife; Stella Greathouse, three children; Aaliyah Lewis, Alicia Greathouse, and Anthony Greathouse. Seven sisters; Lorine Henderson, Tracey James, Bessie Mae James, Ella Faye Flowers, Eva Smith, Peggy Blake and Patricia Miller. Seven brothers; Jeff James, Robert Nash, Gary Lewis, Larry Lewis, Davis Lewis, Livingston James, and John Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends.
