Hinocencio Almarez “Chino” Soto

Hinocencio Almarez “Chino” Soto, 83, of Gonzales, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018.  He was born Dec. 28, 1934 in Cost, the son of Cleofas and Felicitas Almarez Soto.  He was a retired truck driver spanning a career of 50 years, the last 35 with Cal-Maine Foods. 

Chino was always joking and was well  known for his sense of humor.  He went to high measure to be very protective of his family.  He enjoyed sitting outside with his cats and visiting with his best friend Belen DeLeon.  Most of all he treasured time spent with his beloved KK. 

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and still regularly received communion even when sick. 

He is survived by his children, Anna Villareal, Rachel Horton, Veronica Guevara, Lisa Anderson Delbert Garcia and Rita Soto; grandchildren, Rita Lewis, Matt Villareal, Angel Hernandez, Jennifer Walleck, Jeffery Walleck, Jenna Dominguez, Jason Martinez, Cera Anderson, Jonathan Anderson DJ Garcia and Caylyn Molina; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Delia Martinez and brother Clifford Soto.  He was preceded by his parents, siblings Thomas Soto, Mary Soto, Sarah Molina and Guadalupe Soto. 

Visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m. Thursday Dec. 20 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.  Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include Duane Tieken, Jonathan Anderson, Isreal Martinez, Jason Martinez, Jeffery Walleck and Aiden Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Karina Vara and Jade Canales. 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
