Independence Park, Golf Course closed
In front of the gate of Independence Park is a sign that states “the park and golf course are closed until further notice. You may walk or ride your bike using social distancing. Only vehicles will be city employees and RV renters.” The park first closed on Tuesday, April 7.

In an effort to further protect Gonzales and its residents from the spread of COVID-19, the City of Gonzales announced the following closures:
- Independence Park: Park entrances and exits will be closed to vehicular traffic. Park grounds and facilities will be closed to the public, with the exception of joggers and bicyclists wishing to use the trails for essential physical exercise
- Independence Golf Course
These closures will be effective beginning Tuesday, April 7 until further notice.
