Information requested for graffiti incidents

GONZALES — The Gonzales Police Department along with the GISD Police Department are currently investigating several cases of graffiti being spray painted on walls with red and black spray paint. The graffiti was located at Gonzales High School, Gonzales Jr. High School, East Avenue Primary and Lions Park as well as other locations.

Tuesday morning at approximately 7:25 a.m. the district administration was made aware that someone defaced the side of the field house with the following writing: “I’am kill all of you ha ha.” District and surrounding law enforcement were contacted immediately.

For this reason parents noticed an increased law enforcement presence at Gonzales ISD. Officers and administration are currently working with staff to investigate the source of the statement. GISD said that they will take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of students and staff. Gonzales ISD will continue to work with the authorities to determine the source.

At that time GISD will take immediate and appropriate action regarding any individual violating the Code of Conduct and district policies and procedures by causing concern of this nature. Furthermore, these individuals shall be disciplined appropriately in accordance with state law, school district policy, and the student Code of Conduct.

The Gonzales Police Department and the GISD Police Department is requesting the public's assistance with identifying the individual or individuals involved with this crime.
