Jack Dean Pritchard, 66, of Gonzales, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019. He was born Dec. 8, 1952 in Hobert, Oklahoma, the son of Lloyd Willis Pritchard and Lois McClure Weathers. He graduated from Bradshaw High School in Nebraska in 1972. He served with the Texas National Guard and retired after 20 years of service at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In the 1970s and 1980s he worked with his father at Pritchard Construction in Oklahoma. He worked with GVEC where he later retired. He married Rosa Almaguer on Nov. 19, 1993 in Gonzales. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #40, The Gonzales Elks Lodge for over 30 years, Hermann Sons Lodge and a member of the “Armadillo Squad” parade group. He loved dancing with his wife, watching Western movies and BBQing. He was a very dedicated member of the American Legion and was always there to help with any and all projects.

He is survived by his wife Rosa; son J.D. Pritchard both of Gonzales; sister Deborah Pritchard of Marble Falls and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis “Woody” Pritchard. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 at the Hermann Sons Cemetery with Reverend Gary Clack officiating. Honorary pallbearers include Marvin Heinemeyer, Milton Sommerlatte, Ray “Skipper” Irle, Gary Clack, Keith Richardson, Bill Davis, Smokey Spahn, Clint Robinson, Joe Kotwig and Kenneth Hanke. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Legion Post # 40 or The Gonzales Elks Lodge. Arrangements are under to care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
