Joe Andrew Vega

April 27, 1966 – April 10, 2020

Joe Andrew Vega, 53, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020. He was born April 27, 1966, in Gonzales.

Andrew worked in tire repair for many years and helped start and establish Tuch Tire Service in 1999. He is very well known by so many people in Gonzales County and surrounding areas, including many of the local farmers and ranchers, whom most would ask for Andrew by name when in need of a service call. He also volunteered at the Gonzales Fire Department for a short period of time. Andrew loved spending his time off work at home with his family and friends listening to classic rock and playing his guitar/instruments and was good at it. Music and cars were a big part of his life, but most of all his pride and joy is his son Joey. His eyes lit up every time he spoke of his son and always expressed how proud he was of him. Andrew was one of the most wonderful, loving, and very caring father and always made sure his family was provided with all they needed. He was the greatest friend anyone could ever be blessed to have. He had such a huge heart! Always ready to help anyone in need. We will cherish all the wonderful and many funny memories Andrew has left us to share amongst one another as we keep his memory alive in our hearts. Andrew will be truly missed by so many.

Andrew is preceded in death by his father Jose Hernandez Vega; mother Emelia Garcia Mayorga, brother Rene Vega, aunt/mother Maria Cortez Alvarez whom Andrew loved and cherished very much. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents and all of Gonzales, Texas.

Andrew is survived by his only son Joey Lee Vega, from his former marriage to Angela Solis; sister Virgie Vega; brother David L. Vega and fiancée Jennifer Burt; brother Paul Falcon – all of Gonzales; half-sisters Brandy Vega and Danielle Vega, both from Houston, Texas; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A small graveside service will be held Saturday June 6, 2020, at Saint James Catholic Cemetery at 11 a.m. Guests are asked to wear a mask and keep in mind social distancing practices. Thank you all for your many prayers, kind thoughts, and contributions. May God bless you all.
