Joy Nell (Wolff) Hanson passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, May 12 in Austin, Texas at the age of 77.

Joy is survived by her oldest son Mike Hanson of Gonzales, twins William Hanson of Austin and Wendy Graham of Austin; her two brothers, Harold Wolff Jr. and Louis Wolff; her three children, five grandchildren, Justin Hanson, Krystal Hanson, Lindsay Graham, Caroline Graham and Sydney Graham; and great-grandchildren Zachary and Jaxon. Her parents, Harold Wolff Sr. and Dora Wolff, precede her in death.

Joy Hanson was born on January 15, 1941 in Cost, Texas to Harold Wolff Sr. and Dora Wolff. She graduated from Brackenridge Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. In 1963, she married Otto Hanson. For 27 years, Joy worked for the state of Texas as a Nursing Home Inspector. As a single mother, she raised three children, while also working full-time for the State.

Joy truly lived up to her name, bringing joy to everyone she met and knew. She was an incredibly selfless and giving individual who loved helping others, thus the reason she became a nurse. Joy enjoyed socializing with friends and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress with Funeral Service scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19 at Funeral Home. Pastor James D. Elshoff will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow at Capital Memorial Park, Pflugerville, Texas. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joy Hanson’s life.
