Junior High Apaches split games against Navarro

Boys’ 7A wins 62-36
The 7th grade boys’ basketball "A" team beat Navarro 62-36. Leading scorer was Joseph Eleby with 24 points. Chrisean White hit three three-pointers for nine points while Ryan Cantu had seven points. Russell Thomas and Derrick Garza added six points each, Carlos Verastegui and Joe Canales had four points each and Colbie Pullin scored two points.
Boys’ 7B fall in tight 22-18 game
The 7th grade boys’ basketball "B" team lost to Navarro 22-18. Leading scorer was Ethan Crouch with 10 points. Corben Wolf added six points and Kason Tieken had two points.
Boys’ 8A knock off Navarro 39-31
The 8th grade A team won 39-31, as coaches mentioned the team did “a great job all around in the win.”
“Brady Barfield did a good job commanding the game on offense with 12 points,” the report read. Xavier Aguayo added seven points while Jeremiah Hasting had six points. Rounding out the scoring was Jalen Miller and Jacob Bakken with four points and Brett Breitschopf, Breck Eleby and Josiah Contreras with two points each.
“Eleby and Aguayo did a great job creating turnovers on defense to get more opportunities.”
Boys’ 8B improved despite 35-14 loss
The 8th grade B team lost 35-14 despite “an improved effort” against the Navarro Panthers.
Leading the way was Gabriel Garcia with nine points, followed by Jace Ramos with three and Issac Villanueva with two points. “Both Villanueva and Luis Garcia did a great job on both ends of the floor,” coaches said.
Girls’ 7th grade come up short
Both 7th grade Lady Apache teams came up short to the Navarro Lady Panthers. The 7th grade black team scorers were Leslie Orduna, Noriyah Gallegos and Ashlee Walton each with two points. The 7th grade white team scorer was Madison York with one point.
Girls’ 8th grade dropped in contest against Navarro
Both 8th grade Lady Apache teams took a loss against the Lady Panthers. The 8th grade Black team lost 44-20, with Dory Gonzales leading the scoring with seven points. Emma Hernandez added six while Marisol Leon had five and Kailey DeLeon had two points. On the white team, Stefanie Gonzales had five points while Audrey Martinez and Marissa Molina had one point each.
