Gonzales 7A knocks off Navarro

The Gonzales 7th grade "A team" beat Navarro 36-6. Emiliano Lopez was offensive player of the game, scoring a 22-yard and a 68-yard touchdown run. Lopez also scored a two-point run.

David Dubose caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Lopez. Matthew Rios scored a 14-yard touchdown run and also converted two two-point run conversions.

R.J. Coplin caught a nice 20-yard reception from Lopez.

Omar Borjon and Jermane Upshaw were defensive players of the game.

Their record on the season is now 4-1.

Gonzales 8A remain unbeaten

The Gonzales 8th grade "A team" remains undefeated with an 8-0 win over a previously undefeated Navarro team. T.J. Riojas and Kamren Leal were offensive players of the game. Davonte Smith caught an 82-yard touchdown pass from Riojas. Leal and Riojas had several good runs to ice the game at the end that kept the ball away from Navarro.

Rudy Cardenas and Javier Veliz were defensive players of the game.

Their record is now 5-0.

Gonzales 8th grade volleyball teams defeat Navarro

The 8th grade B team defeated Navarro in two sets. The scores were 25-19 and 25-17. Mammarella scored nine points, Schroeder seven points, Lowery 18 points, Guerra 10 points, Avant two points, and Hernandez had three points. The team is now 5-2 in district.

The 8th grade A team also beat Navarro. Set one went to Navarro 20-25, Gonzales fought back to win sets two and three. The scores were 25-16 and 25-23. Overall, Sample scored 16 points, Reyna scored nine points, McCray scored 13 points, Lester had 14 points, Ploeger nine points, Clack had 10 points. The A team is now 4-3 in district.

Gonzales 7th grade volleyball teams take on Navarro

In an amazing two set victory the 7th grade B team Lady Apaches defeated the Navarro Panthers. With phenomenal serving from Kassandra Matamoros and Mariska Leal the points would just not stop coming. Both sets came down to the wire, but Lady Apaches remained calm, cool, and collected to bring home the win. The coaches could not be prouder of each and every girl. Go Lady Apaches and on to Cuero.

Monday night, the Gonzales Lady Apache 7th Grade A Team played an outstanding game but came up short and was unfortunately defeated by Navarro in two sets. Top scorers were Sarah Padilla with four points and Bella Aguero and Peyton Springfield both with three points. Defensive players of the game were Sarah Padilla, Bella Aguero, and Mariela Grifaldo. Way to work hard and great teamwork. Your progress each game makes the coaches proud, go Lady Apaches!
