Gonzales 8th grade teams sweep SA Brooks Academy

The Gonzales 8th grade B team defeated San Antonio Brooks Academy in two sets, (25-16, 25-9). In the first set Mammarella scored six points, Scroeder scored two points, Lowery scored six points, Guerra scored six points and Camarillo scored four points. In the second set, Mammarella had three points, Schroeder, Lowery, and Guerra each had four points, and Avant ended the game with 10 points. The 8th grade B team is now 3-2 for district play.

The Gonzales 8th grade A team also defeated SA Brooks Academy in two sets, (25-11, 25-18). Reyna got the first set going with 11 points, Escobedo had four points, Lester five points and Ploeger had four points. In the second set, Sample had five points, Jahns had two points, Lester three points and McCray ended the game with 11 points in a row. The 8th grade A team is now 2-3 for district.

Gonzales 7A beats SA Brooks in 3 sets

The Gonzales Lady Apaches 7th Grade A Team played a great game and defeated San Antonio Brooks Academy in three sets. Top scorers were: Bella Aguero with 19 points, Peyton Harkey with 11 points and Sarah Padilla with 9 points. Great defensive play by Sarah Padilla, Kilee Schwausch, and Bella Aguero. The ladies showed their dedication and great teamwork to come up with the win.

Gonzales 7B football ties with Hondo

The 7th Grade B Team finished the game against Hondo in a tie, 6-6. The Apaches started the game off 7-of-7 passing behind the arms of Ian Velasquez and Jzyah Melancon, but the offense turned the ball over on downs after several first downs. The offense didn’t get on the scoreboard until late in the second half after Hondo had scored the previous possession. The touchdown run by Isaac Gonzales was set up by a nice run by Christopher Cortez. The 2-point run by Melancon came up just short. These guys improved immensely in only their second game of the seas

Gonzales 7A blows out Hondo 38-0

The Gonzales 7th Grade A team beat Hondo 38-0. Matthew Rios scored an 18-yard and 24-yard touchdown run. He also scored on a 2-point run three different times. Christian Cantu scored a 21-yard touchdown run. Emiliano Lopez threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to David DuDose. DuBose also scored a two-point run. Emiliano Lopez had a 64-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Omar Borjon was defensive player of the game with multiple sacks.

Their record is now 1-0.

The 8th grade "A team" beat Hondo 14-7.

T.J. Riojas scored on an 18-yard touchdown run. Blake Wright scored a two-point run. Jessiah Barr scored on a 74-yard interception return. Defensive players of the game were Jessiah Barr, Davonte Smith, and Kaden Deleon. Their record is now 2-0. Great job guys!
