Junior Jefferson Sawyer

On March 1, Junior Jefferson Sawyer, age 75, went to be with our Lord. Junior was born on December 24, 1941 in Muldoon, TX. He resided in Waelder, Texas. He leaves behind his son, Edward Sawyer and wife Clarrisa of Flatonia and David Sawyer and wife Crystal of Brownsboro, TX,  five grandchildren Mackenzie Cox, William Ackermann, Elizabeth Ackermann, Noah Sawyer, Jase "Jeffrey" Sawyer and his "little buddy" LeeAndra Roper. He also leaves his siblings LilyMae Plummer of Flatonia and Tom Sawyer of Texas, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

Junior is preceded in death by his parents George "Tump" and Gladys Henderson of Waelder, TX and Milborn "Boots" Sawyer of Muldoon, TX, son, Larry Sawyer, and two sisters Mildred and Tot.

Junior worked as a rancher and loved being outdoors. He never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile, a nod, or a friendly wave. It is said that there wasn't a horse he couldn't ride. Junior enjoyed his daily coffee and ice cream at McDonald's. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.  

In lieu of donations, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Ronald McDonald House.

Visitation was scheduled for Monday, March 6 at 4 p.m. and Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 7 at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia officiated by Pastor Tim Rowell. Burial will follow at the Byler Cemetery in Muldoon.
