Kenneth Dale Haschke, 70, of Harwood, passed away Friday, Feb. 16. Kenneth was born Jan. 11, 1948 in Gonzales to Edward Henry Haschke and Eunice Hannah Smith Haschke. Kenneth married Kathryn Mae Davis on Aug. 16, 1969 in Gonzales.

Kenneth was born and raised in Gonzales County. He graduated from Gonzales High School with the Class of 1966. He was a member of the Gonzales County Young Farmers Association. Kenneth farmed and ranched all of his life. He farmed maize and hay and raised cattle. Kenneth was a hardworking man; he enjoyed working in the fields plowing, planting and combining. He put in hay and loved the smell of fresh cut hay and working hard to increase the number of bales from his fields every year. Kenneth was a good man but a hard man. He faced many challenges in his life and still was driven to be productive. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband and he loved his dogs Dede and Chica.

Kenneth is survived by his loving family, wife, Kathy Haschke of Harwood, daughter and son-law, Vickie Ann and Charles Walls of Gonzales, grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Walls and Brooke Mackince Walls, great-grandchildren, Kaeleigh Walls and Raven Grace Hernandez and his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Jim Cummings of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Kenneth Haschke at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
