Lady Apaches named to all-district team

GONZALES — The Gonzales Lady Apaches soccer team made it to the playoffs for the first time in their three years of existence, going 6-6 in District 26-4A.

After their fourth-place finish, multiple athletes were named to the all-district team as well as got other postseason honors.

Aimee DeLuna was named District 26-4A freshman of the year. Named to the first-team all-district were Seidy Villegas and Fernanda Velazquez. Named to the second team were Jordan Maldonado, Alaisia Chavez and Kendra Cavit. Katie Bonilla, Cristal Garcia and Geomyra Gomez were honorably mentioned.

Named to the academic all-district team were DeLuna, Bonilla, Cavit, Velazquez, Garcia, Bri Gomez, Anabela Rodriguez and Sandra Palacios.
