Lady Apaches win consolation bracket

The Gonzales Lady Apaches traveled to Pleasanton, winning the consolation bracket after going 3-3 in games. Hayley Sample made all-tournament team.

“All the girls played great,” head coach Sam White after the tournament. “We battled every game. Even the games we lost, we had chance to win. Our kill percentage is way up compared to last year. Sample was a huge factor in our offense. I’m so proud of her and her dedication to this team. She plays with so much heart.”

Gonzales travels to Schulenburg for a three-day tournament before hosting Luling on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
